Cookies and external media

This notice covers the Academy. It supplements the privacy notice. The company website and separate recruitment/booking portals have their own storage information at the company cookie notice.

Essential sign-in and security

The secure HttpOnly bpw_booking_session cookie authenticates the requested account service. It uses SameSite protection and normally expires after eight hours for an Academy sign-in. It is shared with the company account service where applicable. Signing out ends the relevant session. Without it, signed-in learning and employer functions cannot operate. It is not an advertising cookie.

Learning preferences on this browser

When you choose them, local storage may remember lesson text size (bpa-lesson-text-size) and playful/simple feedback (bpa-playful-feedback). The bpa-disable-preferences setting can disable remembering these choices. Local storage can persist until you clear it; it is not your server-side learning record. Clearing browser storage or disabling preferences does not delete saved progress or certificates. These settings support features you request and are not used for advertising.

External videos

Native Academy videos are served through authenticated company URLs. External YouTube, Vimeo or other approved publisher players are not connected or loaded automatically. Choose “Load external video” after reading the warning if you want to use one. Loading connects your browser to the provider, which receives your IP/device information and may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policy, including international processing. Consent to one player does not authorise every other player.

You can close a loaded player and use the full written alternative instead. Closing prevents further player loading on this page, but cannot undo information already sent or remove provider cookies already set; use your browser/provider settings for those. We do not use remote video thumbnails before your choice. Opening a publisher link also connects you directly to that website.

Payment and optional technologies

Stripe hosts the payment page and explains its necessary payment, security and fraud-prevention technologies there. This Academy release does not add analytics, advertising or social-media tracking scripts. We do not treat continuing to browse or accepting purchasing terms as consent to non-essential tracking. Any future non-exempt technology must remain off until an appropriate choice is obtained.

Your controls

Use browser settings to inspect/remove storage and the Academy's preference controls to change display choices. Privacy rights and complaints can be raised through your privacy centre or training@binapathways.co.uk. Browser clearing alone does not erase server records.
